Pencil Portraits
The more detail that the reference photo has, the more detail that can be achieved in the drawing. Can be drawn on any kind of paper, smooth, textured, white or coloured.
Pastel Portraits
The following photos show the progress of pastel portraits. Can be drawn on different coloured textured papers, and can included very limited details, or as much detail as possible from the reference photo/s.
A pastel portrait was ideal for this particular commission as it was a drawing of an old childhood photo, which the client did not have a digital copy of. As the photo was taken on a film camera it was slightly blurry with limited detail, so pastel captured the essence of the drawing, not necessarily every tiny detail.
